Hello Everyone,

First of all, I want to thank everyone for your generous contributions
and your continued support in making this project reality! Taking
three months off from my day job to work on this project was the most
rewarding and productive decision that I’ve ever made, besides being
back to Burma was priceless..:-) Nevertheless, it was definitely
challenging and exhausting to put together a sensitive and
never-been-done-before project from the ground up, especially right
after decades of systematic destruction of the education system,
marginalization and mismanagement.

But, we’ve planted this delightful seed of #myMEproject back in Burma
and it’s cultivating each day – dedicated 6-person advisory committee
led by Grace Swe Zin Htaik and cheerful teachers/volunteers are
delicately running day-to-day operation on the ground. We currently
have 120 engaging and inspiring teashop students enrolled in three
different classes. We’ve also developed significant partnership with
Lucky-Seven teashop chain, and started classes 6 days a week in
English, Burmese, and Math along with diversity, empowerment and
critical-thinking skills. The number will expand to around 250
students or even more when the next school term begins in June, 2014.

Luckily, a thoughtful donor stepped forward for the second myME bus
and renovation has started, also another generous donor contributed
enough to pay for two years worth of a full-time teacher salary! Now,
we’re looking for a full-time experienced and confident teacher with
great patience and care for underprivileged children who’re working
long hours every day at local teashop restaurants
(http://bit.ly/1iWMycq). Please spread the word and help us find a
thoughtful and dedicated teacher who’s yearning to make a difference.

Meanwhile, please check out our website for (http://bit.ly/1b2VO5X)
videos, photos and updates, and also “Like” us on Facebook
(www.facebook.com/mymeproject) for any upcoming events and activities.
