Hello,

I am using safe-search in all my policies.

The problem: a lot of youtube videos are not available when I use it. In fact all of our own videos. There is nothing wrong with these videos.

How are they filtered? Is there a way to exclude youtube from safe-search?

Thanks.

It's not by us. Youtube decides if it's safe or not. We just redirect your request to a Google domain which does safe-search enforcing.

When I am on a network not using nxfilter and I activate safe search directly in youtube I can see these videos.

So youtube is not blocking these?

When you enable safe-search we redirect the request to forcesafesearch.google.com. It works both Google and Youtube. And the rest is done by Google.

Hm ok, so this is not the Restricted Mode for youtube ?

Because as I already wrote - in the Restricted Mode these videos are still available.

Only the safe-search option in nxfilter blocks these.

Is it possbile to use safe search only for google search, but not for youtube ?

Thanks.

Ok thank you, I will try it manually.

One last question:

are there other things in your safe-search, which I have to manually add then as well? For example bing, yahoo etc?

Thanks.

We block explicit.bing.net when you have safe-search on. So you'd need to block it on your own.

Thanks.
I made another observation during my tests.

On mobile phone (android) I can see the videos that are blocked on normal pcs by your safe-search option.
The difference is the url is m.youtube.de and not www.youtube.de.

Is this the expected behaviour ? Is the mobile version not protected by safe-search ?

That's because we only deal with 'youtube.com' and 'www.youtube.com'. Didn't know that there is 'm.youtube.com'. We will fix it with the v3.0.6. In the meantime you'd need to setup a redirection for youtube as well.

And we also didn't know that there is 'youtube.de'. We will deal with that domain too.

Ok when I manually add m.youtube.com it works.
I am not sure you need the .de domain because it is a redirection to .com

Thanks.
