A service specific error occurred: 1.

Tried on both Windows 7 and Windows 8.  Get the above message when attempting to start the service. Running it manually via startup.bat works fine, but the service won't start.

Scratch that, if anyone else has this issue, it's due to 32 bit version of procrun on x64 systems.  Grab the zip from http://www.apache.org/dist/commons/daemon/binaries/windows/ and copy that procrun to your nxfilter folder and you are all set.

Well done!
Yeah I was going to mention about that 64bit problem.

I couldn't ship all the other versions of procrun to reduce the package size.

I am having the same problem.  We are running an Intel Xeon 64 bit with Windows Server 2012.  If I swap out the prunsrv.exe with the 64 Bit Intel (Itanium) version I get:
Access is denied
System error 193 has occurred.
*** is not a valid Win32 application.

Startup.bat works fine.

Any ideas?

What happens when you run it on CMD. I mean procrun.exe. I actually didn't test it on Xeon 64 bit as I don't have it. Can't you use Ubuntu then?

It says "This app can't run on your PC.  To find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher.".  I suppose we could use Ubuntu but windows would be nice as we already have it configured.  Thanks.

Did you try all 3 of them? One is included in NxFilter package and one is what you're talking about and there's one more. It is for AMD64 actually.

I tried the other 2 and not AMD64 as it is AMD and not Intel.  But I tried the AMD64 now and it WORKS!  I'm not sure why but I will take it.  Thank you.
