Yes that would be great. Thank you for setting up the call Scott.

Our current scoring plan is posted on the NWYRC.org web site. I have included a copy below.
I have not received any suggestions on an alternative scoring plan at this time however would like to hold this call to clarify any issues.
One issue that arose at the end of the circuit last year was the first line item..
All sailors must sail in 4 or more NWYRC regattas in the season to be eligible for the NWYRC awards.
m.. Chris (WCS), Burke, Dave and I interpreted that as 4 regattas in an assortment of boats.... I believe we should make this clear.
One other item I would like to discuss are the NWYRC objectives.

Looking forward to connecting with you all tonight - no looming power outages tonight!

  • Overall scoring for the circuit shall be the summation of the sailor’s lowest 4 scores in one class. See below for specific class details.
  • Eligible sailors must 18 or under on the last day of the circuit.
  • Adults racing will be scored according to each regatta’s scoring rules, however removed from the overall NWYRC scores.

All Optimist fleets, Red, Blue and White shall be scored overall at each regatta.

Results can then be determined from the overall scores for the various age groups.

Blue       11 or 12 on the first day of the regatta

Red        13 until aged out per USODA class rules.

The NWYR Circuit will then be scored in White, Blue, Red, fleet according to sailor’s age at the first NWYRC regatta.

Lasers:

Laser sailors will be scored according to each regatta’s scoring rules in; Full Rig, Radial or 4.7 class

The NWYR Circuit will score a Laser sailor overall in only one class.  A one regatta exception will be allowed: A sailor may choose to sail in a different rig at one event, their placement for this regatta will be recorded in the overall circuit series in their regular class.

Double Handed boats:

The double handed team will be scored according to each regatta’s scoring rules.
