Script to Control Kenwood TM-V71A and TM-D710G Radios

A few people have asked me about a script I wrote that’ll run in Linux (tested on the Raspberry Pi running Stretch and Buster) to control various functions of these 2 radios from a Terminal command line.

If you are using a recent and *UPDATED* version of the Hampi image for the DigiLink/Nexus DR-X systems, it will be in the Updater app (Raspberry > Hamradio > Update Pi and Ham Apps) so you can just select and install it. The very latest Hampi image (released yesterday) comes with the script already installed.

If you are not using the Hampi image for the DigiLink/Nexus DR-X systems, the hamlib (which provides rigctl) and bc packages must be installed in order for the script to work.

Your radio’s programming cable must be connected between the Pi and the radio for the script to work.
