We currently have a laboratory internship and a research clerk position available,
in a busy inflammation and arthritis laboratory on the Chicago campus.
Research Clerk
Basic duties for the clerical position include: word processing, data entry,
photocopying, graphics and slide production, and filing. The successful
applicant will process lab correspondence, perform library literature
searches, locate & obtain journal articles, and use a number of software apps
(MS Office, WordPerfect, Ovid/PubMed, Persuasion, SlideWrite, etc). A
familiarity with PC's (Win95 & DOS) is necessary. This position is part-time
(~20 hrs/week) and will last through September. Hours can be flexible.
Laboratory Intern
The laboratory intern will be trained and perform the following duties:
reagent preparation, basic cell culture, antibody production (via bioreactors)
& purification (affinity liquid chromatography), assisting in immunoassay
development, laboratory organization & maintenance, data analysis, and
rudimentary statistical analysis. Computer skills would be helpful. This is a
full-time position which will last through the summer and ideally continue on
a part-time basis during the fall quarter.
There is also the possibility for part-time lab worker positions over the
summer.
