Please join NWSFS for our May Social at the home of Yvonne and Eric Pawtowski on Saturday, May 20, 2022, in Lynnwood. The social will begin around 5 PM and continue until around 10 PM, or whenever we get tired.

Link to Facebook event (for those still on Facebook): https://www.facebook.com/events/145066865199904  To insure enough food, please either RSVP to the Facebook event or send email to one of the addresses listed below 🙂

This Social is also our nomination meeting to select candidates for our annual NWSFS officers election.
Nominations are open for Treasurer, Vice-President, and President (you know: the Moneyman, the Cruise Director, and the Cat-Herder). Persons nominated must be at least 18 years of age, have one-year of membership in NWSFS, and be in good standing with NWSFS (a list of eligible members will be made available at the Social).
Nominees do not have to be present to be nominated. Any member of NWSFS may nominate another member. All nominations must have a second. We will contact any potential Nominee not present at the meeting to determine if they agree to run. All nominees must agree to run.
The NOMINATION MEETING will start at 6 PM.
NOTE: We will also need a volunteer to run our annual election (handling both the mail-in ballots and walk-ins at our annual picnic on June 17th). This person does NOT need to be a current NWSFS member, just be someone trustworthy.
NOTE: Please bring proof of COVID-19 vaccination (picture on phone is fine). Do not come if not vaccinated, displaying active COVID symptoms, have had a recent high-risk exposure to COVID, or within quarantine period for COVID. Side gate will be open so people can enter back yard directly. There will be plenty of seating outdoors. Masks are not required but are welcome.

As usual, this is a potluck, so bring your contribution of a main dish
(occasionally have enough), side dish (rarely have enough), munchies (usually have enough), or desert (often have enough, if there is such a thing as enough desert). Bring your own beverages if you want something particular, although some basic beverages will be available. NWSFS members are encouraged to attend, and non-members in the SF/Fannish community are welcome, as always. We hope to see you there.
There will be a grill running. The Pawtowskis will be cooking some extra sausages and dogs to share. Anyone who wants to bring stuff to grill is quite welcome.
The main television has an HDMI input and will likely be used to display photos of interest. If you have electronic photos to share, from Fannish events, the previous Norwescon, or whatever, please bring them.
Logistics: There is parking on the street near the house. Parking in
the driveway is okay, you don't need to worry about blocking anyone in. Usually it's not hard to find parking. The neighborhood has a lot of hills, so be careful. There are three stairs leading to both entrances. The back door doesn't have stairs, but the path is too narrow for a wheelchair, and possibly more trouble than it's worth. There are no domesticated animals living there, pets are welcome, and Daniel will be bringing his dog over for the day. Smoking is outside only, please.
Buses:
The nearest bus stop is near the intersection Olympic View Drive and 73rd Ave West. The Community Transit local route is 119.

The road will make a sharp left turn, and its name changes to
70th Avenue.
