tornado first touched down near the Snapfinger community in a
wooded region west of Tarragon Dr. The tornado uprooted a tree
onto a home along Tarragon drive trapping a teenager in the second

limbs were observed until the tornado crossed Highway 155 and
Highway 212 where a couple trees were snapped near the intersection
of 212 and Framingham Dr. The tornado then crossed into the Valley
Oaks neighborhood where numerous trees were uprooted or snapped,
including two onto homes in the neighborhood along Gracehill Road
and Oak Run Dr. Both homeowners were home when the trees crashed in,
including one narrowly missing them while in the bed. The tornado
continued east snapping trees along Valley Oaks Road and along Salem

A weak velocity couplet was detected on radar northwest of the
intersection of Grays Chapel Rd and Grady Pennyman Rd at 7:20 AM.
The storm tracked to the east, with a tornado debris signature (TDS)
appearing at 7:24 AM over Grays Chapel Rd. Two trees were uprooted
along the road, and four trees were snapped at their tops before
the circulation moved over a densely wooded area. By 7:26 AM, the
velocity couplet had weakened and was located over Israel Creek
east of Grays Chapel Rd, although the TDS persisted due to lofted
debris. The damage in this area was limited, but enough to indicate
a brief touchdown.

...Macon (North Bibb County) Tornado...

Rating: EF0
Estimated Peak Wind: 85 mph
Path Length /statute/: 1.94 miles

End Lat/Lon: 32.8711 / -83.6482

Survey Summary:
A weak velocity couplet was detected on radar just east of Forsyth
Rd /Vineville Ave, north of Payne around 7:58 AM. The storm tracked
to the east-northeast and caused damage neighborhoods along Pierce
Avenue and in the vicinity of Northwoods Academy between 8:00 AM
and 8:03 AM. Uprooted trees and minor damage to siding, carports
and gutters suggested a high-end EF-0 tornado with peak wind speeds
of 85 mph. Notable damage included several trees on homes and damage
to vehicles and an overturned U-Haul truck. Leaf debris and limbs
were noted along the tornado track, but at some points damage was
limited to snapped tree tops, suggesting the tornado may have briefly
lifted several times along the path. The weak velocity couplet was no
longer detected on radar once the storm reached the Ocmulgee River
just east of I-75 at 8:05 AM, although a tornado debris signature
(TDS) remained apparent due to lofted debris.
