A brief tornado developed along the northern slopes of Sawtooth
Mountain during the early afternoon of September 13th, 2025. It
quickly pushed eastward causing tree damage and then dissipated
after about 5 minutes. A damage scar was recognized via satellite
data, and this data was used to perform the damage survey. Both
radar data and the environment were supportive of a tornado at
this location. However given uncertainty with the damage
indicators, the tornado has been rated EF-U.
