The National Weather Service received reports of a brief tornado 
across rural portions of Maverick County several miles north of 
Quemado.

Survey Summary:
Several storm chasers had reported that a funnel cloud moved 
across US Highway 277 and briefly fully condensed to the ground 
just east of the highway for a short time. Small broken tree 
branches were noted off the highway, supporting EF0 damage.

EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the
following categories:

EF0.....65 to 85 mph
EF1.....86 to 110 mph
EF2.....111 to 135 mph
EF3.....136 to 165 mph
EF4.....166 to 200 mph
