...Preliminary NWS Damage Survey for 4/2/2026 Tornado Event...

.Overview...
An NWS Storm Damage Survey Team completed a survey of Clinton 
and Jackson Counties in eastern Iowa, where damage within 
those counties was confirmed to be from a single tornado. This 
was part of a long-lived thunderstorm that likely produced 
additional tornadoes prior to this one farther to the 
southwest. Additional work is being done to confirm these
tornadoes and their attributes over the coming days.

Survey Summary:
An NWS Storm Damage Survey Team confirmed an EF1 tornado with
peak winds of 105 mph and maximum estimated width of 250 yards.
Damage included over ten snapped power poles, over ten
outbuildings and sheds destroyed, numerous homes with shingle
damage, and many trees with large sections snapped.

EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the
following categories:

EF0.....65 to 85 mph
EF1.....86 to 110 mph
EF2.....111 to 135 mph
EF3.....136 to 165 mph
EF4.....166 to 200 mph
EF5.....>200 mph
