...NWS Damage Survey for 5/16/26 Tornado Event...

.Overview...A line of severe thunderstorms tracked across far
southwest Wisconsin the in the late evening and overnight hours
this past Friday into early Saturday.  Widespread minor tree
damage was noted across portions of Iowa County near Dodgeville
from these storms while a circulation on the southern end of the
line of storms produced a brief tornado southwest of Shullsburg.

Survey Summary:
Tornado appeared to start along/west of County Road I and Penny
Benton Rd.  Along Penny Benton Rd, it hit 6 trees, 1 uprooted, 
1 snapped at the trunk but was rotted, and 4 others had limbs 
topped.  As it tracked east, it hit some metal farm buildings 
along Mullen Rd and south of Copeland Rd.  Corn stubble from the 
field to the west was noted deposited along the farm driveway 
with sheet metal from the barns lofted up the hill and into the 
forest to the east.
