Survey Summary:
The National Weather Service conducted a storm survey in Los Angeles City 
in Los Angeles County, CA for damage associated with a low-topped mini 
supercell that occurred on Thursday December 25th, 2025. Damage indicated 
a brief EF0 tornado occurred, with a maximum wind speed of 80 mph, a 
distance traveled of 0.3 miles, and a width of 30 yards.

Damage occurred 1 mile SE of the neighborhood of Boyle Heights within 
the City of Los Angeles, in Los Angeles County, CA. Storm damage first
occurred at a residential home on Lee Street, where there was damage to
the surface and structure of the roof, such that water leaked into
the interior of the property. Power was also lost for the impacted room.
The next area of significant damage was couple blocks to the north. Around
a commercial strip mall on the NE corner of Whittier Blvd and S Lorena St,
several business signs were destroyed, with plastic and metal debris blown
across the area, even breaking some windows. A utility pole was bent and 
in need of quick repair, moderate sized tree branches were broken, lighting
infrastructure was damaged. The damage path ended in an alley just north 
of the shopping plaza off of S Lorena St. In this area, damage was observed 
to the roofing of residences and metal chain link fences. Nearby residents, 
who were home mentioned that the storm roared and the house was shaking 
during the event.
 
The National Weather Service would like to thank the City of Los Angeles
Emergency Management Department for their dedicated collaboration for
both the storm survey and the antecedent preparedness efforts. We greatly 
appreciate the testimonials and assistance we received from the affected 
business owners and homeowners.
