...PRELIMINARY STORM SURVEY INFORMATION FOR SEPTEMBER 14TH, 2025
TORNADOES...

National Weather Service personnel are surveying tornado damage in
central North Dakota following the tornadoes that occurred on
Sunday, September 14th. 

Preliminary damage survey information is available for two of the
tornadoes:

.Tornado just west of the town of Mercer in McLean County...

Preliminary Maximum Rating: EF-1


.Tornado in the Denhoff area in Sheridan County...

Preliminary Maximum Rating: EF-2


Estimated peak winds, path length and width, start and end times
and locations, and details on the damage will be released as that
information is finalized.

An additional survey is ongoing for damage in western Emmons 
County. Further analysis is being conducted for all tornadoes that
occurred on September 14th, 2025, and more information will be 
released in the coming days.

EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the
following categories:

EF0.....65 to 85 mph
EF1.....86 to 110 mph
EF2.....111 to 135 mph
EF3.....136 to 165 mph
EF4.....166 to 200 mph
EF5.....>200 mph

NOTE:
The information in this statement is preliminary and subject to
change pending final review of the event and publication in NWS
Storm Data.

...UPDATED PRELIMINARY STORM SURVEY INFORMATION FOR SEPTEMBER 
14TH, 2025 TORNADOES...

National Weather Service personnel have surveyed tornado damage 
in central North Dakota following the tornadoes that occurred on 
Sunday, September 14th. 

Preliminary damage survey information is now available for three 
of the tornadoes:

.Tornado just west of the town of Mercer in McLean County...

.Tornado approximately 13 miles west of Linton in Emmons County...

Preliminary Maximum Rating: EF-2
