Overview... Preliminary survey results of the tornado damage seen north of the Plum Grove area of Liberty County. While it was one super cell that passed through the area, it does appear that the rotation lifted as it crossed the East Fork of the San Jacinto River, resulting in two tornado paths. The first tornado on the west side of the East Fork of the San Jacinto was narrow, and likely was on the ground for a minute or less near the intersection of CR 3708 and CR 3709. The second tornado, on the east side of the East Fork of the San Jacinto River, was on the ground for about 1.76 miles from FM 1010 to CR 3404. Both tornado segments have been given the preliminary rating of EF-0, with the peak estimated wind speed of 80 MPH for Segment 1 and 85 MPH for Segment 2. .Plum Grove Tornado Segment 1... Tornado appears to initially touched down within a wooded area between CR 3708 and CR 3709, then turned eastward along CR 3709 for a short distance before lifting up shortly before River Ln. Through the use of a drone, did not see any damage in the deeply wooded area along the East Fork of the San Jacinto River. So, will end the first tornado just before the River Ln and CR 3709 intersection. Majority of the damage seen was broken trunks and branches of pine trees and fences down. Power lines were also reported blown down, but the power line poles remained upright. .Plum Grove Tornado Segment 2... Rating: EF0 Estimated Peak Wind: 85 mph Path Length /statute/: 1.76 miles Path Width /maximum/: 120 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 02/03/2026 Start Time: 03:27 PM CST Start Location: 4 N Plum Grove / Liberty County / TX Start Lat/Lon: 30.255 / -95.0865 End Date: 02/03/2026 End Time: 03:33 PM CST End Location: 4 NNE Plum Grove / Liberty County / TX End Lat/Lon: 30.2575 / -95.0583 Survey Summary: The second tornado segment starts along FM 1010 and Wooden Ln with an uprooted tree and broken wood signage. Drone footage showed no signs of damage within the wooded area between the first and second segments. The most significant damage occurred at a metal structure off of FM 1010 with preliminary estimated peak winds of 85 mph. The tornado entered a largely empty field between FM 1010 and CR 3405, but still saw some tree damage. The tornado then entered the Bella Vista subdivision, causing tree damage, fence damage, and metal structure damage between CR 3405 and CR 3404.
