Rating: TSTM/Wind Peak Wind: 75 mph Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 03/15/2026 Start Time: 11:53 PM EDT Start Location: Lebanon Junction / Bullitt County / KY Start Lat/Lon: 37.84 / -85.73 End Date: 03/16/2026 End Time: 12:05 AM EDT End Location: Mt Washington / Bullitt County / KY End Lat/Lon: 38.02 / -85.58 Survey Summary: The National Weather Service conducted a storm damage survey on Monday, March 16th for the storms that occurred on Sunday night, March 15th. The starting point was on the north side of Lebanon Junction where a large old softwood tree fell onto a pickup truck at a residence along state highway 61. More damage was surveyed approximately 1.5 miles ESE of Lebanon Junction along S Sanders Ln where a couple of older softwood trees again had fallen. The next report was along Ridge Rd / CR 1442 approximately 4.5 miles SW of Mt Washington where several large softwood trees fell on power lines causing on power pole to snap and another to become uprooted. Further downstream along the storm path, a cluster of damage along Armstrong Ln consisted of several downed trees and metal roofing stripped off of barns/garages. Some of the metal roofing panels were blown into tree tops and twisted onto power lines. A half mile north on Armstrong Ln was another instance of several large softwood trees that had been knocked down causing damage to a chained link fence. Rating: TSTM/Wind Estimated Peak Wind: 80 mph Path Length /statute/: 5.36 miles Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 03/16/2026 Start Time: 12:06 AM EDT Start Location: 2 NW Balltown / Nelson County / KY Start Lat/Lon: 37.7653 / -85.5286 End Date: 03/16/2026 End Time: 12:08 AM EDT End Location: 1 N Bardstown / Nelson County / KY End Lat/Lon: 37.8211 / -85.4605 Survey Summary: The National Weather Service conducted a storm survey on Thursday, March 19th for the storms that occurred early Monday morning, March 16th. Straight line winds were determined to have occurred in Nelson County near the Bardstown area with max winds of 80 MPH. Damage to trees occurred along the Bluegrass Parkway southwest of Bardstown, including trees damaged in an isolated nature within Bardstown city limits. South of Bardstown there was damage to trees and some structure, including a building at the Nelson County Fairgrounds and a barn with extensive roof loss along Highway 31E. All damage was facing to the northeast, which is consistent with the storm motion and indicative of straight line winds. No rotational signatures were observed by the survey team. The National Weather Service would like to thank Nelson County Emergency Management for their assistance on the storm survey, as well as the helpful landowners who allowed access to their properties. && EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the following categories: EF0.....65 to 85 mph EF1.....86 to 110 mph EF2.....111 to 135 mph EF3.....136 to 165 mph EF4.....166 to 200 mph EF5.....>200 mph NOTE: The information in this statement is preliminary and subject to change pending final review of the event and publication in NWS Storm Data. $$ MCK
