This tornado may have started further southwest in Shannon County, but it is unknown at this time. Significant tree damage occurred along Green Mountain Road with hundreds of trees uprooted or snapped, along with at least a couple trees that were debarked. A steel trailer was picked up and lofted several hundred yards. Several homes were completely destroyed along the path from Green Mountain Road and northeast towards the town of Fremont and further north along Carter Highway Y. The tornado continued northeast and produced additional tree damage along Highway M and Highway D as it moved into far northeast Carter County. It moved east-northeast along County Road 450. Some of the worst damage was located along here with one house completely leveled resulting in 1 fatality. The tornado then crossed Hwy 67 and hit a mobile home park on the west side of Poplar Bluff. From there it produced mainly roof damage to homes and businesses as it moved through Poplar Bluff. Hundreds of trees were snapped or uprooted along the path. It crossed Highway 60 and continued northeast to a little northwest of the town of Rombauer. Significant damage was noted along Highway T where at least one home was completely leveled. Hi-res satellite imagery helped extend the track a little further northeast, but it is unknown at this time if it extends even further northeast and possibly connects with the Fisk tornado. Traveling northeast, the tornado became up to 500 yards wide at some points, causing widespread severe damages to hundreds of trees across Ripley County. Several homes and outbuildings were damaged by falling trees as well. As the tornado approached US Highway 160 west of Fairdealing, it turned on an easterly path as it damaged trees and outbuilding along the highway. After crossing into Butler County, the tornado turned again and traveled north- northeast. Along F Highway in western Butler County, a couple homes suffered major roof damage, including uplift of most of the roof decking. The tornado lifted as it approached County Road 480 and the Lone Hill community. Note: The peak winds, maximum tornado rating, and peak width all occurred in Arkansas. The total path length of the tornado is 58.3 miles. In Arkansas, the tornado began on March 15 at 10:21 PM CDT (0321 UTC). The Arkansas tornado path length was 32.92 miles. In Missouri, the tornado path length was 25.38 miles. Moving northeast, the tornado crossed into Perry County, where about 50 homes in the county suffered damage, and five were left uninhabitable, mostly in the St. John community. In the industrial park on the west side of Du Quoin, one metal building machine shop was completely collapsed. Numerous wooden power poles were broken along the path, including a few high capacity electrical poles northeast of St. John on Kimmel Road. Reaching Highway 154 northeast of Du Quoin, the tornado blew out the windows of the historic Paradise Church and toppled numerous gravestones in the adjacent cemetery. After snapping a few tree trunks behind the church, the tornado dissipated. Hundreds of trees along the path were snapped, uprooted, or suffered the loss of large limbs. ..Tornado #10 - Sikeston, Missouri... There were several roof panels scattered about and power poles down south of the town of Browns. Moving east-northeast, the tornado damaged a few apartment buildings on Lawrence Street, then damaged the roofs of a nearby shopping center and fast food restaurant. Crossing US 61, the tornado did extensive roof and awning damage to a nursing home facility on Col. George E. Day Parkway. The tornado then damaged the roofs of several homes in a neighborhood near Plantation Boulevard before dissipating at Ingram Road. ..Tornado #11 - Vienna, Illinois... Traveling northeast, it damaged roofs of homes and uprooted trees as it crossed both Highway 146 and Old Highway 146 Loop. Along Dutchman Farms Road, several homes sustained roof, gutter, and fascia damage. Additionally, outbuildings were heavily damaged, and trees were snapped and uprooted. After crossing US Highway 45 and Interstate 24, a few manufactured homes were nearly completely destroyed and wooden power poles were broken on Canada Lane. As it continued northeast, the tornado crossed US Highway 45 a second time near Shelby Road and Dixon Lane, where additional homes suffered roof, gutter, and fascia damage. As it continued northeast, the tornado crossed Gilead Church Road and Ozark Road east of the Ozark community, where the great majority of damage was to trees. Weakening, the tornado lifted at Belville Road just before the Johnson-Pope County line. ..Tornado #12 - Oakland City, Indiana... Some damage to outbuildings and power poles occurred, along with many trees that were uprooted as it moved northeast crossing Highway 168 and eventually Interstate 69. It produced roof damage to a church and canopy damage to a Gas Station to the southwest of Oakland City. Several trees were uprooted through town and one mobile home was severely damaged. Drone footage confirmed that the path continued into Pike County and eventually into Daviess County, Indiana. The total path length for this tornado was 57.84 miles. The most significant damage occurred in Gads Hill and Des Arc, where a few residences were destroyed and 3 people were killed. This tornado was assigned a rating of EF-3 with a maximum wind speed of 155 mph. The tornado directly impacted a large campground near the Castor River in Wayne County, killing one person and severely injuring another. The most severe structural damage occurred on DD Highway where a home lost its roof and had most of its exterior walls collapsed in. Several vehicles were also tossed 50 to 100 feet. Another nearby home also suffered heavy damage. Numerous outbuildings were also destroyed.
