Survey Summary:

This weak EF-1 tornado spawned during the evening hours of June
23, 2026, from a quasi-linear convective line segment passing
through and near the community of Plain Dealing. A vast majority
of the damage was to trees with many hardwood and softwood trees
being uprooted along the path. Sporadic softwood tree snaps
throughout the assessed path of nearly 5 miles long garnered the
peak wind speed of 88 mph for the tornado. Many power lines were
downed in the path of the tornado, but the survey team surmises
that most of this occurrence was due to trees and tree limbs
falling on the lines. Fortunately, the survey team has heard of
no human casualties in association with this weak tornado. It is
also important to note that there were other sporadic instances
of tree damage throughout northern Bossier Parish due to the
severe line of thunderstorms moving through during the evening,
but the assessed tornado damage featured much more concentrated
damage along a path.

Many thanks to the Bossier Parish Office of Homeland Security and
Emergency Preparedness for assisting the NWS Survey Team in
locating the damage near Plain Dealing.
