The first was early on Tuesday morning which was mainly widespread damaging winds, but some embedded tornadoes likely happened. We've been able to document one brief tornado south of Beaver Dam, but more areas need to be checked on. Regardless, widespread 60 to 70 mph winds occurred across much of southern Wisconsin in these early morning hours. A second severe weather event occurred in the evening hours of Tuesday, April 14th with numerous supercell thunderstorms which transitioned to a squall line with embedded tornadoes. Very large hail to the size of softballs were recorded in the Madison area. Tornado-wise, there have been 4 tornadoes documented so far in southeast Wisconsin so far but surveys are ongoing. .Beaver Dam... Tornado was at it's most intense near Indian Grass Lane where it caused damage at multiple businesses. The strongest damage was to a insurance car shop port that had a well anchored roof that was completely blown off and found approximately 3- 4 blocks to the east near Highway 164. Damage then occurred to a church near Wildwood Way and multiple homes along Conservancy Court. Tornado appeared to end around or just to the east of the Butler Nature Preserve. .Endeavor... Corn stubble was noted to be deposited from the corn field to the west all along a path through a cemetery up to I-43. Some tree damage was noted at the Alpine Valley Golf Course. The tornado then moved along County Road D and caused additional damage to some barns and outbuildings along with trees. Tornado ended somewhere south of County Rd D and northwest of Valley View Rd. .Waterford... The tornado then continued southeast toward Waterford, removing sheet metal from a shed along Buena Park Rd. The tornado then continued through the north side and downtown Waterford where most of the damage was to trees and houses from the trees falling on them. A few trees were noted to have been lofted and dropped into the Fox River. The tornado appeared to begin north of Woodman Rd near County Highway J. Much of the wind damage in this area appeared to be due to straight line winds or the rear flank downdraft as debris from farms and irrigation systems were widespread and directed to the southeast. One tree along Maple Ln was snapped halfway up the tree with the top part being lofted over a build and trees and appeared to be the only tornadic damage in the area. The tornado then tracked to the northeast through mainly open farmland until it got to Emerald Grove, where it caused barn damage and extensive tree damage. Sheet metal from the farm was lofted and deposited to the northeast in this area. The tornado continued northeast toward Richmond and was documented by storm chasers. The tornado appeared to end somewhere south of Lake Lorraine. .Delavan 1... The tornado appeared to begin north of Woodman Rd near County Highway J. Much of the wind damage in this area appeared to be due to straight line winds or the rear flank downdraft as debris from farms and irrigation systems were widespread and directed to the southeast. One tree along Maple Ln was snapped halfway up the tree with the top part being lofted over a build and trees and appeared to be the only tornadic damage in the area. The tornado then tracked to the northeast through mainly open farmland until it got to Emerald Grove, where it caused barn damage and extensive tree damage. Sheet metal from the farm was lofted and deposited to the northeast in this area. The tornado continued northeast toward Richmond and was documented by storm chasers. The tornado appeared to end somewhere south of Lake Lorraine. .Delavan 1...
