Survey Summary:
The National Weather Service conducted a survey in LaRue County
KY for the storms that occurred on Thursday December 18th, 2025.
Damage indicated a brief EF0 tornado occurred, with a maximum
wind speed of 85 mph with a distance of 1.99 miles and a width of
20 yards.

Damage occurred to the southeast of Hodgenville along
Highway 210 (Campbellsville Road), or northeast of Buffalo.
Storm damage was first observed just to the east of Moveson Road
and north of the South Fork of the Nolin River where a barn was
destroyed. Debris from the barn mostly ended up to the
east/southeast, with some debris being thrown backwards toward the
house near the barn. Nearby tall grasses showed different
flattened windblown convergent patterns, which was further
evidence for rotation. The tornado continued just to the south of
Highway 210 where another barn had roof panels blown off and
lofted upward to the east northeast across the highway.

Crossing Highway 210, there were several structures along
Whitlock Road to the north of the highway. The first home had some
tree branch damage that was pointed to the southeast, which was
evident of convergent winds being pulled toward a center line just
to the south. A barn for the southern most property along
Whitlock Road had some roof damage, along with a residence with
some shingle damage. Nearby homeowners, who were home during the
tornado, mentioned how their windows were sucked out and back in
quickly as the storm passed, most likely due to the low pressure
of the storm passing over the house. The tornado continued across
Whitlock Road and did some damage to the softwood trees on the
east side of the road. The tornado then continued to the east
along McDougal Creek and did some damage to trees to the north of
Highway 210. There was no observable damage beyond this point.

The National Weather Service would like to thank the helpful
homeowners for their testimonials and assistance providing
pictures and access to their properties. The National Weather
Service is also appreciative of the helpful pictures and
assistance from LaRue County Emergency Management to complete the
survey.
