These surveyed tornadoes are across parts of Lincoln, Lawrence and Jefferson Davis counties. Additional surveying is underway today and there will be more in the days to come. Also of note, widespread straight line wind damage is noted in the areas where the tornadoes occurred. This is making for more challenging analysis and longer time to cover what needs to be covered. In the coming days, we will update inforomation on additional tornado paths as well as swaths of straight line wind damage. .Ruth and Jayess Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 110 mph Path Length /statute/: 15.92 miles Path Width /maximum/: 1000 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 03/11/2026 Start Time: 07:57 PM CDT Start Location: 5 SE Bogue Chitto / Lincoln County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 31.3822 / -90.388 End Date: 03/11/2026 End Time: 08:09 PM CDT End Location: 7 N Salem / Walthall County / MS End Lat/Lon: 31.343 / -90.1247 Survey Summary: This tornado touched down along Pleasant Hill road and track just south of east across multiple roads and through the the Ruth, Bristerville and Jayess communities. Widespread damage to trees and power lines. A more detailed summary will be done at a later time. Additionally, this continues into far northern Walthall and may extend more east. .Fox Road Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 105 mph Path Length /statute/: 8.07 miles Path Width /maximum/: 700 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 03/11/2026 Start Time: 07:57 PM CDT Start Location: 4 ESE Bogue Chitto / Lincoln County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 31.4029 / -90.3806 End Date: 03/11/2026 End Time: 08:07 PM CDT End Location: 12 E Bogue Chitto / Lincoln County / MS End Lat/Lon: 31.3869 / -90.2461 Survey Summary: This weak tornado touched down along Glade Lane and track just south of east across Fox road and through the north side of the Ruth and Bristerville communities. Widespread damage to trees and power lines. A more detailed summary will be done at a later time. .Jefferson Davis Tornado 1... Multiple downed and broken trees were noted along the path. Some skirting was blown away from a mobile home. .West Bassfield Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 100 mph Path Length /statute/: 3.50 miles Path Width /maximum/: 500 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 03/11/2026 Start Time: 08:41 PM CDT Start Location: 3 W Bassfield / Jefferson Davis County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 31.4956 / -89.8028 End Date: 03/11/2026 End Time: 08:45 PM CDT End Location: Bassfield / Jefferson Davis County / MS End Lat/Lon: 31.4927 / -89.7444 Survey Summary: This weak and brief tornado touched down along Carson-Bunkerhill road and moved generally east along Hunnicut road and crossed Highway 35 at Bass Burkett road before dissipating just beyond Bassfield-Cemetery road. Damage was mainly downed and snapped trees and some power lines. Some tin damage was noted to some sheds and a few trees were down on a couple buildings and homes. .Bass Burkett Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 90 mph Path Length /statute/: 3.09 miles Path Width /maximum/: 400 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 03/11/2026 Start Time: 08:41 PM CDT Start Location: 4 WSW Bassfield / Jefferson Davis County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 31.4769 / -89.8074 End Date: 03/11/2026 End Time: 08:44 PM CDT End Location: 2 SSW Bassfield / Jefferson Davis County / MS End Lat/Lon: 31.4725 / -89.7557 Survey Summary: This weak and brief tornado touch down along Carson Bunkerhill road and moved east and crossed Bass Burkett road, Lofton Drive and dissipated as it crossed Highway 35. A few trees were snapped but mostly uprooted trees were noted along the path. A couple power liens were down as well. .Chocktaw Road Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 105 mph Path Length /statute/: 2.22 miles Path Width /maximum/: 250 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 03/11/2026 Start Time: 08:42 PM CDT Start Location: 3 WNW Bassfield / Jefferson Davis County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 31.5106 / -89.794 End Date: 03/11/2026 End Time: 08:45 PM CDT End Location: 1 WNW Bassfield / Jefferson Davis County / MS End Lat/Lon: 31.504 / -89.7572 Survey Summary: This weak and brief tornado touched down just west of Chocktaw road and tracked just south of east and dissipated along Judge Fagan Lane. Numerous trees were snapped and uprooted on the south and southwest side of Chocktaw road. A mobile home had the roof heavily damaged. A tree was down on a vehicle and power lines were down. A wooden building was damaged on the edge of a pond as well. Tree damaged lessened quite a bit as it moved toward Highway 42. .Gum Swamp Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 105 mph Path Length /statute/: 8.15 miles Path Width /maximum/: 700 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 03/11/2026 Start Time: 08:46 PM CDT Start Location: 1 ESE Bassfield / Jefferson Davis County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 31.4896 / -89.7182 End Date: 03/11/2026 End Time: 08:56 PM CDT End Location: 6 NNW Sumrall / Covington County / MS End Lat/Lon: 31.4993 / -89.5806 Survey Summary: This weak tornado touched down just east of Highway 42 and tracked east into Covington county. More area is need to be surveyed so we don't have an end point just yet. Tree damage was noted on Hosey Mikell road and Ridgeland roads. Additional Tree damage was see on Stubbs and Willie Buckley roads as well. A notable increase in intensity was seen as the tornado approached and crossed Gum Swamp road around Fairman Lane. Hundreds of trees were snapped and uprooted. Some minor damage was done to a few structures on the east side of Gum Swamp road. The tornado continued east to just inside Covington county along Sumrall road were additional trees were uprooted. This survey is not completed. .Good Hope Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 90 mph Path Length /statute/: 3.17 miles Path Width /maximum/: 400 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 03/11/2026 Start Time: 08:48 PM CDT Start Location: 3 NE Bassfield / Jefferson Davis County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 31.5243 / -89.7029 End Date: 03/11/2026 End Time: 08:52 PM CDT End Location: 6 ENE Bassfield / Jefferson Davis County / MS End Lat/Lon: 31.5386 / -89.652 Survey Summary: This weak and brief tornado touched down near the intersection of Williamsburg road and Claude Booth road and track just north of east across Good Hope road and Willie Fortenberry road. Uprooted and snapped trees were noted along the path.
