On the evening of June 20th, 2025, a severe thunderstorm with
strong straight line winds pushed through the Copper Ridge area
south of Lincoln, North Dakota. Widespread wind damage was found
in this one mile by one mile development. This damage includes
several homes with roof damage, siding, and deck damage. Damage to
garages, including one with a side of a wall blown out. Campers were
damaged or flipped. A large shop was completely destroyed then
directly blown into the neighbor's property across the road. It
was reported one person was injured during passage of this line of
storms. Through on site survey and review of damage photos
submitted via agency partners and social media, it has been
determined this to be straight line wind damage consistent with 
an estimated max wind speed of 110 mph.

Survey Summary:
Numerous photos and videos showed a tornado forming in an open
field southwest of Hannover at approximately 7:45 PM. The tornado
slowly tracked 3.5 miles to the southeast over the next 8 minutes
or so before dissipating south of Hannover near Highway 31. There
is no known damage from this tornado, therefore the rating is EF-
Unknown.

Survey Summary:
Estimated tornado track based on a combination of NDAWN video
footage, storm chaser reports, radar data, and high-resolution
satellite imagery. Tornado started at approximately 10:39 PM,
with a section of the path seen from satellite imagery in a 
field about one third of a mile into the track length. Tornado
tracked southeast and crossed the interstate just west of the
Apple Creek Rest Area. The most evident part of the track is seen
in satellite imagery as the tornado moved into a field off of
132nd St NE and Highway 10, moving southeast and crossing 145th
St NE before the track becomes less clear. This is the estimated
spot the tornado ended at approximately 10:45 PM based on the
NDAWN video and radar data. Estimated duration is 6 minutes and 
length is about 3 miles. It is possible this tornado was not 
continuous throughout the track length. There is no known damage 
from this tornado, therefore it is rated EF-Unknown. 

NWS Bismarck would like to extend its thanks to NDAWN for video 
footage to assist in the start and end time of the tornado, and 
to the storm chasers who provided photos of the tornado.
