Howdy Fellow Beekepers,  Another great gathering for Pa. State. Glad the weather held out for everyones trip down and back. 336+ Pa beekeepers showed up to gather information and camaraderie. Great food by the way was served by the Four Point Sheraton Pitts. I wanted to mention two vendors who were there among many other well known Exhibitors in bee supplies. We get calls for Pollen esp in the spring. Pollen is a difficult harvest and not many beekeepers want to take on the challenge. Paul Warstler of Paul's Honey & Bees Apries of E. Sparta, Ohio brought a good supply of pollen.
I was impressed at all his work and effort to bottle and sell pollen. It is local pollen from Ohio and well preserved. If anyone needs pollen for making patties. I told him I would mention this to our fellow NWPBA beekeepers. Paul's # is (330) 484-6184. It seems he is into a little bit of everything from nuc's, bees wax, queens, chickens and eggs, to Jack Russell Pups, and more. Just one of the many who offer so much at the Pa. State wide connections from this seminar.
Another wonderful couple who have a variety of products Reid's Apiary, honey, bees wax and bees supplies.
Bill & Margaret are the ones who sell those amazing T-Shirts full of honeybees and other honeybee related items. Mugs, Sweatshirts, Bee Jewelry, & much more. A very nice couple from Willow Wood, Ohio. Give them a call for that gift you have been looking for or those wonderful Honeybee T shirts...  # (740) 643-2925 Their table is one of my favorites.
Everyone had such nice displays of products it was hard to pick and choose what you needed and what your eyes cought that was new and different. There is a new nuc observation hive out that I did not have the time to look at but seemed to be a great set up. Something I want to explore in the future. We can fill everyone in at the next meeting. We brought back new 2013 Catalogs to hand out. Many of the venders were kind enough to let us take for the asking for our NWPBA group. We were also glad to see about 15 or more of our NWPBA group there this time; made it feel like home to see a familiar face. Although if you attend enough times you become acquainted with many from all over the state. There is never enought time to shop and see everything. Some things are limited so you want to be quick in what you see and want to buy. Books galore on sale and they had them listed so we bought back a list of beekeeping books for everyone.
Hope to see everyone this weekend, swarm to OLOL Sat 23rd 2013 at 1:p.m. Sincerely, Tara Miller
