Detect click on dock

It's all in the title - is an API available for this? I want to hide our app when clicking close, and show it when clicking the dock - similar to how many OSX apps work.

Ok, it looks like you can use the window focus event to detect this. 

The only thing i'm missing is being able to tell the difference between clicking on the close button in the window and hitting CMD+Q, in apps such as Spotify and Skype these two actions are handled differently.

IMO, this feature should be handled by node-webkit. Most of the apps on
OS X don't quit when you close the last opened window. There are
exceptions, but that only means the feature should be configurable.

I'd open a ticket for this.

Yep, agreed. There is already an open issue on his feature :)
