Hi,

Because of the capability of node-webkit to reuse HTML5 and CSS3 code (which is already available for a hybrid app), i decided to use this for the 'laptop/desktop' version. This application will have both offline and online features. The biggest questions in front of me are security and distribution.

If the .app,.pak and .dlls are included in an msi and made available in a web server, can the distribution happen smoothly. What if one user copies it from one laptop to another laptop (unauthorized user who uses the authorized user's login credentials). This makes me think in the lines of the profile concept in the mobile world.

In the wiki, certain aspects on security are mentioned. It that all i have to do? During the online mode, REST services are invoked which are proxied by a web server. Would there be any additional complexity when the firewall and other components come into picture.

Most of the threads talk about games etc. Hence i am a bit worried whether i am in the right track. There will be close to 1000 users or rather 1000 installations. I dont have a timescale to revert back to some other tech stack and re-do everything. Hence please confirm the 'fitment' of this technology and also its capability to support the scale.

Regards,
