Hi all,

I'm looking for a way to legitimately support H.264 video in a node-webkit app without licensing decoder patents.  I know Mozilla recently managed this with Firefox.  Does anyone know if it's possible to do the same with node-webkit (or if it will be possible in the future)?

Thanks in advance!

I should have mentioned this in my original post...  For those not familiar with Mozilla's solution, H.264 and MP3 decoding is handled by the operating system.  Since Windows 7 and 8 both come packaged with the proper codecs, Mozilla can support the encoding without licensing the codecs or packaging them with Firefox.

Depending on your situation maybe a VLC plugin could work.

I looked into this option. However, VLC does not yet support 3D video
decoding. I'm still thinking on a plugin based approach where I could
be using NaCl, JavaFX or a totally custom player.

¿Isn't 3D video just a regular video with half of the video for each eye?
