Hello all,

Below is information about this coming weekend from PRO Andrew Nelson:

Hi Sailors and Coaches!

We are looking forward to hosting everyone down at Cascade Locks for Gold Fleet Racing Championships this coming weekend! A few things to keep in mind...

1) Entry Fees and Waivers
The cost is $30/sailor. We will collect this at check in on Saturday morning. It would be great if teams paid for all of their sailors in one transaction. Teams can bring a check made out to "Columbia Gorge Racing Association" or pay with a credit card. Each sailor also needs to have a CGRA Waiver on file for the event. New waivers are needed each year. Please do this ahead of time!

2) Parking
We are asking that everyone park in the grass lot next to the Pavillion (labeled "CGRA Parking" on the map). Parking in that lot is included in the entry fee. Elsewhere, you have to mind the signage and likely pay. THERE IS NO REGATTA PARKING IN THE STERN WHEELER/IXTAPA RESTAURANT LOT (labeled "No Parking" on map). Please, please, please do not park there. This is a huge point of contention with the Port and we need to be good neighbors.

3) Boats and Trailers
Teams are welcome to use the marina/CGRA parking lot for unloading trailers. Boats should be dollied down to the beach where they can be measured and stored overnight (Fri-Sun). Boats should be stored at the east and west ends of the beach. The middle is reserved for public access. Trailers must be parked in the grass lot next to the pavillion.

 4) Measurement
Please try to have trailers arrive on Friday afternoon for boat measurement. Measurement is officially from 4-7pm on Friday. All boats need to go through this process. Boats need to be fully rigged (except sails) and on dollies for measurement. Teams should coordinate their arrival plan so that there are sailors to help unload and rig boats on Friday. Team representatives need to stay on hand in case there are boat issues that need addressing. Check for cracked universal joints, worn out CB shock cord, sketchy hiking straps, etc. etc.while at practice this week. Such items will be flagged at measurement.

5) Safety
It has been feeling like summer lately, but the water is still cold (55 F). The Gorge can also be a very windy place (that's why we like it). Please bring appropriate safety gear and wetsuits, hats, towels, etc. Know your limits and make sure your equipment (boats) are in good working order.

We're looking forward to a great regatta!

Cheers

Andrew Nelson
