Hello NWISA programs,

Our district has the honor of hosting the 2027 ISSA Double-handed Championship (Mallory Trophy) in just over a year.  Hosting the regatta requires 42 FJs - enough for the A and B fleets to race concurrently.   All boats sailing are required to be in top condition, be the same manufacturer and be within a 3 year age range of each other.  This requirement presents an equipment challenge for our NWISA district.  We have identified enough FJs regionally with this criteria to support the B fleet boats (21), however, we are short of the entire required 42 boats.

Since the NWISA board first discussed this issue last month, we have identified a few programs that want to purchase new boats for delivery to support the 2027 Mallory Cup, taking possession of them after the regatta.   NWISA will purchase 21 new fleet sails for the event.  This will require a major fundraising effort, but it is critical to our region.  The current sails will be sold to support the new purchase.

WSC has worked hard to offer the NWISA district programs their best discounts of the year!  Chris let me know that our NWISA programs are getting roughly double the standard discount because we are grouping together our order.  They are also offering a 5% discount on 1-3 boats; doing what they can for smaller programs.  The final WCS pricing is provided below:

FJ quantity pricing per order from individual programs (Note: New boats include standard, non-decorated sails in the price):
  • 1-3 boats: $12,112 (5% discount)
  • 4-6 boats: $11,899 (6.75% discount)
  • 7-12+ boats: $11,730 (8% discount)
  • Platinum Sails (colored/team race/large numbers) are available for an additional $1,350 per boat; not included with boat
Orders? Questions? Please let Chris Wright at WCS know as soon as possible if you plan on purchasing boats/sails by sending him an email at: chris....@westcoastsailing.net  Please email Chris with specific questions on the boats and sails.  I believe WCS needs verbal confirmation by June and will ask for a depost in August.

Please cc me (Jaime) at the email address below so I can keep track and work to support our programs however we can.

All the best,

Jaime
