All, Please help support local families' ability to find qualify school options in Cleveland by printing, posting, sharing and distributing fliers about outstanding academic options.  Word of mouth works well, too!  See below.

Subject: Right School Right Now: PLEASE HELP

Dear Community Leader,

On behalf of the Communications Committee of the Transformation Alliance, I wanted to follow up on yesterday’s press conference kicking off Right School Right Now. Mayor Jackson and Eric Gordon were outstanding in leading the outreach to parents, and presentations from Vickie Eaton Johnson (CMSD parent) and Demitria McKenzie (recent graduate of John Hay School of Science and Medicine) were especially heartfelt. All four speakers stressed that the school choices parents make for their children can have a tremendous impact on their future success.

Thank you to all who were there yesterday. We realize that many could not attend, but the grassroots effort to reach Cleveland parents is still very much ahead of us. We have created neighborhood specific flyers, posted on our website http://www.rightschoolcleveland.org/find-a-school/, that list every school by neighborhood and their Ohio report card ratings. We want parents to have the information they need to make informed school choices for their children, and to know that there are steps they can take this summer that will have a positive impact on their children for the upcoming school year. This is where we need your help.

Please contact Lauren Halladay at lhal...@acuitycle.com to indicate your willingness to provide flyers to your constituents. You can print the appropriate flyer from the link referenced above.* There are separate K-8 flyers for each Cleveland neighborhood, and a single flyer that lists all Cleveland high schools. In addition, we hope you will be willing to link the http://www.rightschoolcleveland.org site to your own website with a message that you support parents' opportunity to find the best possible school for their child. We also ask that you announce the Right School Right Now campaign in your community newsletter and refer parents to http://www.rightschoolcleveland.org or United Way’s 2-1-1 First Call for Help.

We cannot stress enough how much we appreciate your support of this critical endeavor. Together, we will improve education for every child in our city.

Thank you,

Alan Rosskamm

The Cleveland Transformation Alliance

Communications Committee Chair
