Hi All,

The Intergenerational Schools are community sponsors for the National Senior Games here in Cleveland which kicks off this weekend through rest of July.  Over 12,000 athletes and thousands of visitors will be in Cleveland for the games and we’re thrilled to be a part of it, but need your help! Volunteer needs are listed below in order of priority.  Please help where you can and recruit others if possible.  Students welcome and encouraged to help also.

A.      Mentor/Reading Zone (all ages encouraged): Saturday, July 27th, 3 hour shifts throughout day (8-11, 11-2, 2-5)—New Cleveland Convention Center in the “Village”

B.      Senior Walk—Participate with athletes/seniors in Senior Walk (all ages encouraged): Thursday, July 25th, 9:15 a.m. registration, 10:00 a.m. Start Time (all activities done by 12:30)—Mall B & C/Near Convention Center Downtown—Registration Form Attached for you to complete and bring with or send to me. (please also let me know you’ll be there)

Option A is the pop-up reading mentor/activity zone that we plan to have on July 27th in the “Village,” a common area for all participants located inside the new convention center during the games. We could use as many students/parents as possible to make this a very cool & fun interactive experience showcasing our schools.  Responsibilities would include helping to facilitate reading and craft activities provided. We also need books donated for the day to help facilitate the mentor zone.

PLEASE EMAIL ERIC INDIVIDUALLY AT emcg...@tisonline.org WITH AVAILABILITY & NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS IN YOUR PARTY FOR OPTION A ALONG WITH TIME FRAME(S) AVAILABLE.  YOU’LL RECEIVE INSTRUCTIONS SHORTLY AFTER FOR TRANSPORTATION/PARKING LOGISTICS.

Thanks, Eric

Hi NWIS families,

Hope some more families and mentors are able to join us!  This is an important event and also a great opportunity for nwis to demonstrate our unique educational model and our reading success.  Should be fun, too!  Hope to see you there--even if just for an hour or so!  Let Eric know if you can make it.  Thanks!
