Paid Gig: Assistant Video Editors for Dialog & Story Editing
Fruitbowl Podcast is seeking skilled video editors to help produce unique podcast episodes that feature intimate interviews with a diverse cross-section of queer people telling first-person stories about their coming of age and the different ways they discovered their sexual identity and preferences.
Editors will need access to Adobe’s Premiere and should have a basic understanding of video editing techniques. Dave Quantic, Fruitbowl’s creative director and senior editor will lead new editors through a guided tutorial that includes dialog editing techniques, story editing and media management.
This is not your typical podcast banter. Episodes feature interviewees speaking with minimal interruption and the result is intensely intimate and revealing. Episodes feature very funny and relatable stories, but there is also frank, uncensored discussion of sex. Difficult topics like abuse, chemical dependency and relationship & family trauma are often discussed so applicants should be prepared for challenging content. Editors, once hired, will need to sign NDA agreements.
This is a chance for editors to contribute to a valuable archive of queer stories as well as an opportunity to refine dialog and story editing skills.
Pay begins at $250/episode but editors can earn as much as $450 if they choose to take on advanced production responsibilities and meet deadlines.
