Dance Film Casting Audition

Project Description:

A 10 minute short dance film following a narrative between two figures, SELF and OTHER, where SELF tackles feelings of loneliness in a group versus truly being alone and gaining self acceptance.

Seeking: 

Dancers with a theatrical background highly encouraged to audition. Casting up to 12 dancers. 10 ensemble, 2 leads (1 precast). Work will include improvisation from a modern dance vocabulary. Dancers will need to be able to improvise and contribute creatively.  Looking for experience in partnering and contact work. Experience on a film set a bonus, but not required.  

Shoot Dates:

Shoot dates to be determined after rehearsals begin and content builds. Rough timeline set for August. 

Compensation:

Leads to be paid $13 an hour. All will receive copy of the film. Possible pay for ensemble once funding is secured. 

Rehearsals:

Monday mornings from 10 -12 with the studio open at 9:30 for a self warm up. 

Date: April 25th Monday

Time:  9:30 - 9:40 am; Check in 

            9:30 am - 10:00 am; studio open for self warm up

           10:00 am - 1:00 pm; Phrase work and partnering exploration.

*COVID - proof of vaccination needed for entry into SHIFT. Masks required.

DILLEY PRODUCTIONS Elizabeth Dilley (SAG-AFTRA), BFA in Dance (Cornish College Of The Arts), Certificate in Performance (Laban Centre London), Diploma in Theater Arts (American Academy of Dramatic Arts). Elizabeth has 17 years experience as a professional dancer and actor on film and stage in New York City, London and Seattle. She runs her Pilates business (RadiantPilatesNW.com) in Seattle while raising two small humans.
