Drupal Commerce - Additional optional products on add to cart form / product display

Hi. We thought this may be simple or already existing but are struggling with adding optional products to the product display. What we need is to have a main product, with variations, and then optional extra products which can be added by clicking on a checkbox so that they are all added to the cart at once. The optional extras are only related to the current product display so can not sit elsewhere on their own on the website. I've attached an image of what we are trying to achieve. We have tried the Commerce Product Addon module but it fails with an ajax error when more than one product variation is available in the main product and one f them is selected in the front end.

Did you try the entity-reference to put your customed entity and use Rules to recalculated the related prices?
