When I run the install command, it generates an error, apparently because it wants to write to my profile.do in a very specific location that is not where my profile is. (My profile is in the Stata PERSONAL directory, a fairly standard place.)  I was thinking that if I knew what it -nwinstall- wanted to put in my profile.do, I could do it myself by hand.  Here's what I see:

. nwinstall, permanently

nwcommands Social Network Analysis Using Stata

Program by Thomas Grund, Linkoping University, IAS

PACKAGES you could -net describe-:
nwcommands-ado    Social Network Analysis Using Stata - Core
nwcommands-hlp    Social Network Analysis Using Stata - Help Files
nwcommands-dlg    Social Network Analysis Using Stata - Dialogs
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
checking nwcommands-dlg consistency and verifying not already installed...
installing into c:\ado\stbplus\...
installation complete.
file C:\Program Files (x86)\Stata13/profile.do could not be opened

Can you offer any thoughts of a solution here?

Run an .adoupdate to version 1.2.1. I changed the default path for profile.do to the PERSONAL folder (which makes a lot of sense indeed). Furthermore, "nwinstall" has now an option "path" to manually override where it looks for/creates profile.do.

Hope this solves the issue.

Best,
Thomas

Stata still only sees the 11 March version.  I'll check again in day or so. - Mike

The update issue should be fixed now. Run the Stata command:

. adoupdate, update

In case, there remain some problems, you can always do a manual uninstall/install like this:

. net uninstall "nwcommands-ado"
. net install "nwcommands-ado"
