Dear Peter,

I exactly have the same problem with the nwergm command and I also unsuccessfully  tried to use several different directory paths for the rpath option.

Hi,

Thank you for the great suite! It's very comprehensive collection of commands and models. Exactly what is needed for Stata.

I am planning on using a ERGM for part of my research and wanted to test the nwergm examples provided in the help files.
However, it seems as if nwergm can not find a R-installation on my computer. I have installed the latest version of R (R 3.2.0) and also earlier versions of R (3.1.2 and 3.1.3) but none of them seems to be found by nwergm and different verions of Windows (7 and 8 (64 bit)).

I have tried to use the rpath-option but it does not seem to work. I have tried a couple different versions of the rpath-option, i.e,:

nwergm gang, formula(edges +  gwesp(alpha=.5, fixed=TRUE) + nodematch("Birthplace")) rpath("C:\Program Files\R\R-3.1.2\bin\R.exe")
nwergm gang, formula(edges +  gwesp(alpha=.5, fixed=TRUE) + nodematch("Birthplace")) rpath(C:\Program Files\R\R-3.1.2\bin\R.exe)
nwergm gang, formula(edges +  gwesp(alpha=.5, fixed=TRUE) + nodematch("Birthplace")) rpath(C://Program Files//R//3.1.2//bin//R.exe)
nwergm gang, formula(edges +  gwesp(alpha=.5, fixed=TRUE) + nodematch("Birthplace")) rpath("C://Program Files//R//R-3.2.0//bin//R.exe")

Is there anything I am doing wrong (wrong path or usage of the rpath-option)?

Best regards
Peter

This turned out to be a Windows-specific problem. I hope that I could fix it. Can you run an adoupdate to version 1.2.9 and let me know if the problem persists?

. adoupdate, update all

nwergm gang, formula(edges +  gwesp(alpha=.5, fixed=TRUE) + nodematch("Birthplace")) rpath("C:\Program Files\R\R-3.1.2\bin\R.exe")

In case you get an other error message you can get some more information by using the "debug" option. There is the possibility that you might have to change the writing rights for the folder where your R is installed (so that R can download and install the relevant packages in batch mode). If that is the case, let me know and I tell you how it works.

. nwergm gang, formula(edges +  gwesp(alpha=.5, fixed=TRUE) + nodematch("Birthplace")) rpath("C:\Program Files\R\R-3.1.2\bin\R.exe") debug

Best,
Thomas
