NWAustin MUD #1 Dissolved by City of Austin

Today, the Austin City Council approved an ordinance dissolving
Northwest Austin MUD #1. Canyon Creek taxpayers will not see a MUD tax
bill again - ever! The City of Austin is obliged to return all 2009
taxes (which were due Jan 31, 2010) in the March/April (2010) time
frame. Taxpayers will also be getting another (smaller) check probably
this month, which is a disbursement of most remaining funds in the
MUD's O&M (operating and maintenance) account prior to dissolution.

To honor the outstanding attorneys who made this victory possible, we
are having a free BBQ lunch at the Trailhead Park on March 6th (2010),
from 11:30 - 12:30, with a brief presentation at 12:45.
