Some folks to whom you may forward Michael Matson's message might want to know the source of Manual Alvarez Jr.'s commentary. Mr. Alvarez wrote his comments in a Letter to the Richmond Times-Dispatch Editor. The source is available at this link:
http://www.inrich.com/cva/ric/search.apx.-content-articles-RTD-2008-07-07-0033.htmlI am sending this along only because a lot of stuff has gone out via emails that have not particularly helped conservatives ("Obama is a Muslim" comes to mind). Therefore, I think it is important to include a source when we forward something to someone.
The devil is in the details, as the old saying goes. The particular detail that needs to be corrected in Michael Matson's very interesting and thought provoking message is in the first sentence in which it is stated that Mr. Alvarez wrote his comments as a "editorial to the Richmond Times Dispatch". It wasn't; it was a Letter to the Editor, which the Times Dispatch published at least online.
I look forward to meeting folks again tomorrow afternoon.
BTW, I know this is the Prager Listener's Group, but I strongly recommend listening to Hugh Hewitt's recent in studio interview with Victor Davis Hanson. It is important to remember that this election is taking place in the midst of a war. A lot of follks are missing that given the important events happening in the American and World Economy. When it comes to understanding world events and the war against Fascislamism in the context of a Classical Education and Military History no one beats Prof. Hanson. No One.
