I'm starting a draft of what I would say in the newsletter re: this event

Please comment/ correct/ let me know if I have it wrong/ edits etc.  My feelings will not be hurt.  I just wanted to get something down so we can go from here.

After their very successful fundraiser in November where over $1100 was raised for library subscriptions, the Friends of North Village Branch Library are staking out new territory with a book club/ discussion group.   All book lovers are invited to attend the 2010 kick off event,
"Shall We Gather At the Library"[help me with a better name]
on January xx, at xx pm
They hope to attract a diverse group of people from the area who like to read, share ideas and viewpoints.  At this first meeting they will discuss the process of selecting books, potential meeting times and locations, and toss around some ideas for future events.  Other ideas might include inviting local authors or artists speak, display their work, perform, or read.  The sky is the limit for ideas!  Come and be a part of this new neighborhood group.  Light refreshments will be served.  See you there!

Let me know what you think or if you have anything to add
Mary

Beautiful. We could do the January 16 kick off date for a group discussion on upcoming suggestions and topics....but I would sure appreciate the June 29 slot to talk about  the life experiences that prompt us to write books - my 10th book will be published on June 21 - "Sunshine Picklelime". Thoughts everyone??
best to all bookwormies - look forward to a really lively group - Pam
