Hi all,
Emily King from Urban Forestry will be presenting a talk called "The
Right Tree in the Right Place" at the North Village Library on Monday,
January 25, from 6:30-8:00.
Thanks to our neighborhood librarian, Walter Minkel, she will be
focusing on trees in our area. North Shoal Creek (in particular) and
many of the surrounding neighborhoods are full of so called "junk"
trees nearing the end of their life span. We need to think to the
future and plant trees suited where we live if we want to retain our
lush and tree lined streets.
I hope you'll all be able to come and join the discussion.
Please feel free to forward this on to anyone or any listserv.

What a great idea...I too have seen the beauty of trees in the area.
an additional note:
Friends of North Village Library will have it's first
meeting on Saturday Jan. 16th from 2:30 to 5 pm at the library. We welcome
all suggestions for presentations. Dates have been secured till July 2010.
I have a non-profit 501c3 for this purpose and invite help doing so. The cost of application is roughly $ 300.00 . I am willing to large contribute a portion for this.
The First Unitiarian Universilist Church of Austin is assisting in the paperwork needed, gratis.
Please share your ideas.. assistance ... funds - so that Friends of North Village Library [ FofNVL] can continue to do non-policitical work to help the library.
Spread the word to your contacts.
Authors, performers, short story readings, preformers are already being lined up for once a month events.
Ciao,,
