Hey all,
I wanted to inform you all about these two events coming up on April
25th and 26th in New York City based on the work of Carl Rogers and
his work in "Client-Centered Therapy" and the "Person-Centered
Approach".
This relates to Nonviolent Communication in that Marshall Rosenberg
studied under Carl Rogers at the University of Chicago and then later
on worked together with him on a research project at the University of
Wisconsin. Much of the theory and practice of NVC came out of the work
of Carl Rogers.
I am excited by these two events because of the diversity of formats
for it all. The first day is done in traditional lecture format, while
the second day is an experiential encounter group.
I am wishing you all the best!

A One-Day Encounter Group
Unlike many other theories of human relationship, Carl Rogers' Person-
Centered theory is action oriented. His development of the encounter
group offers a practical arena for applying the Person-Centered
concepts to real relationships. A natural follow up to this seminar is
to come together and experience the unfolding process in relating to
one another as the core conditions (empathy, unconditional positive
regard, and genuineness) are present. All seminar participants are
invited to take part in this free group experience. There will be a
sign-up sheet and directions for this event available on the day of
the seminar.
