to NVC Evolves
Hi All:
I have uploaded a paper I wrote a couple of months ago that is an
attempt to integrate NVC with Self-Determination Theory-a
psychological theory that deals with needs. I would be grateful for
any feedback. It seems to me that these two theories are compatible,
and given SDT's acceptance in the field of psychology, it might be a
way to bring NVC into the world of academia. Perhaps this isn't the
objective of NVC Evolves, but I am interested in how NVC usage,
assumptions and premises might be turned into falsifiable hypotheses
and empirical questions.
One more thing. I have often heard M.R. say that domination language
probably originated 8,000 years ago, presumably with the advent of
agriculture and larger groups of people requiring more sophisticated
organization. I am not sure that this is true. Thoughts? And if
it's not true, does it somehow impact the integrity of the theory? I
don't think it has to. Any ideas?
Peace,
Mark
