Hi All;
I am excited to have this forum for discussion, and appreciate Conal
setting it up for us. There have been several postings, I've made
two, and I have not received my postings back from the website as I do
with other groups I am on, so I'm wondering if anyone is getting the
posts?

I made my earlier postings via email and am trying this one directly
from the website to see if that works. Am I the only one having
problems with this?

Thank you all,
Eric

I believe it is working. I think I read your posts.

Hi Eric,

All three of your posts came through just fine for me.  The first one got held a while for moderation, and I don't know why.  I'm a little disappointed not to find some of the flexibility I'm used to from Yahoo groups I've  been in and maintained.  Specifically, I haven't found a way to say that you want copies of your own posts.  Of course, you can always check on the web interface to make sure it arrived, but I'd rather not have to.

I can poke around on the google group help group some more, looking for answers.

Personally, I've been nose down in my other research (computer science) for a couple days.  I'm looking forward to participating in more discussion in this new venue.  Meanwhile, I really appreciate your energy!

Warmly,  - Conal

Thanks Conal, I appreciate your response.  I agree with the Yahoo/Google flexibility thing.  I'm not a virgin to e-groups - oh no, I hope this doesn't trigger a need for rules about how to have fun with words and humor :) - because I am on both Yahoo and Google groups, and have started some too, and find more trouble with Google for some reason.  Both systems have also worked well and I receive my posts from both venues too, so I am confused about why that hasn't been happening here.  Anyway, I was feeling frustrated and disappointed to put some time and effort into communicating and thinking my transmissions were not being received because some e-ducks weren't lined up.  I'm feeling hopeful now, and cautious while I wait to see how this one goes before I put a lot of effort into another group message.  Thanks for hearing me, and good luck with your computer science research.
with love,
Eric
