Is there a max limit on options in a dropdown?

I need to populate a form dropdown with ~4000 options, of which the end user can select only 1.

I set up my spreadsheet, created my range, and hit "populate question" but it does nothing.

Is there a max limit to what can be populated?  If not, how can I enable my FromRanger to work as expected?

Just saw in a different post that there is no limit, so not sure what my error may be.

For clarity,

• I'm logged into 1 Google account
• The sheet is on my drive (not shared or team)
• It is a relatively small sheet (3 column, 4k lines)

As a further followup, if I just test with 10 entries, it works just fine.

When I go back to my list with 3460 entries, it no longer works.

Any insight would be very helpful.

With further googling, I saw that Google now has a 1000 limit on drop downs.  Bummer.

I have a list with less than 400 and it is not working.

If I try with 150 lines it works fine, but if I put more options on list, its not loading.

what can it be?

I believe you can have 999 items.  The likely problem is you have duplicate entries in your list.  See the message at the top of the forum. https://groups.google.com/g/nv-form-ranger-add-on.

Purchase Google and have your company make a change.  I don't think there is a way.  The 1000 is a Google limitation. It isn't that hard to create two or more questions.

It is easy to combine the answers in the Responses sheet.
