Here is the short explanation of what I need. I have a form and I need it to have conditional drop downs... Select a campus, then select a grade, then select a student name. From that point it moves on to the rest of the report questions.

Long explanation:
I haven't been able to figure out how to make FormRanger do what I want so I decided to break it down by grade. I have 5 campus's that I need to set this up for but here is the break down for one campus so you can see what I'm going.

At the end of section 2 a campus must be chosen. Let's say Primary is chosen. Now we move on to
Section 3: Primary grades: There is one drop down with grades: PK, KG, 1st. Choose a grade and go to the section for that grade. Let's say we choose PK.
Section 4: PK, Here is where I need the list of students.
My Google sheet has a tab called PK that only has the PK students.
I configured FormRanger to pull up this list. It works no problem.
When I move on to set up the KG group of students, is where I run into problems.
Let's say in section 3 KG is chosen as the grade. This takes us to section 5.
Section 5 has one drop down, and it needs to have a list of all the KG students. The sheet has a tab for KG with all the students listed.
I go thru the steps on FormRanger:
Check populate from range, click on +
Select my spreadsheet
Select my sheet: KG
Select the column: fullName
Name the range: KG Students.
I see list of student names in the preview when I name the range.
But then when it finishes updating, the drop down doesn't actually have the list of names populated in the list.

What am I doing wrong? Is this outside of the scope of FormRangers capabilities?
I'd be happy to use a google app script to do this but I don't know coding at all. I tried getting Gemini and ChatGPT to create the whole form using google app scripts but that was an exercise in frustration to the point I was ready to scream at the AI and physically hurt it. I end up using all the free allotted time/prompts trying to get the AI to understand and give me corrected scripts without breaking something else in the script.
I'm at my wits end here!
How can I get this done! Do I need to make separate spreadsheets, not just separate sheets, for each grade? I don't like that idea but I guess I can if it will work reliably. Updating students would be a chore, but not impossible.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

You have an interesting problem.  I can understand getting frustrated.

For the questions that don't update, is there a duplicate entry in the data?  See the descriptioin of this group.  Google will not allow dupicates.

A long time ago, FormRanger had a problem if you were trying to update too many questions.  I wrote a script to load questions from a column in a sheet, Column one is K, Column two is 1st grade etc.  I had some help for sure.

See https://youtu.be/VoxoyERVqYM.  The source needs to be in the same spreadsheet but can be in any sheet.  It can be modified to work with other question types.

You may have to write (modify) a script because the number of questions is so high that FormRanger can't handle them.

I would be happy to do a Zoom or Meet to discuss your project after you have watched the video. Let me know
