Form Ranger Not Updating

I created a Google Form and used Form Ranger to populate the questions from a Google Sheet.  I have now updated the sheet, but the form questions are not reflecting the new information.  I have tried clicking on the question and then opening the Form Ranger plug in.  Once it opens, I have tried unchecking and rechecking the box to populate the question from a range, editing the selection, clicking the "Update Question List", etc...  

The only thing that seems to work is to manually delete all the options in my question and THEN go into Form Ranger and set it up again.

Any ideas?

When you say updated the sheet, is that a manual process?  When you setup FormRanger you should be given two options.

Run on Form Submit and Run hourly.  If your changes are not from a form submit, the form might not be updated for an hour after you make changes.

Yes, the sheet updates are manual.

I just went to my form(s) and added the option to update every hour.  Is it OK to have both options selected (on Submit and Hourly)?

John...did that solve your problem?  I'm having the same issue.  I updated the table I was referencing via form ranger.  It has been working for awhile, but all of a sudden, when I made an update to the table, I can see the updated info when I select it via form ranger, but then returns a black table.  Then it worked again for a bit and now not working. :-(

I'm having the same issues.  The information coming into my sheets from the form is populating nicely, but the information is not being translated back to the form.  So, when my limits are met for sessions, that information is not going back into the form.  I've been troubleshooting every way I know how, and I can't find a work around.  Please help!

You can always copy and paste the items from the spreadsheet.  That doesn't deal with the automatic updating.

Did you check for duplicates?

Form Ranger used to work great...until about a year ago. Now it never updates my data automatically, and I use it on about six different forms. I have to to open each form, then start up Form Ranger on each form. That usually does the trick. But It's no longer "automatic" like it used to be. Very disappointing and makes extra work.

It should still work automatically on a form submit or a time trigger.  Does your data have duplicate entries?  See the description of the group.

I"m having some problem. Fom does not update. This functionality quit about a year ago. I use it on about 6 different forms. "On form submit" and "every hour" are both selected. I used to be able to start up formranger on the forms and that seemed to force it to update my new data, but now that functionality has quit working on about four of my six forms just yesterday. I've tried unlinking and relinking the data spreadsheet. Nothing works. I've tried deleting the sheet out completing and relinking. Now my questions are just blank. It won't pull data from sheet at all. What's going on with this?

I want to know what you mean by all unique entries??  If they are time slots the times will be the same but the date will be different...if a limit is met it will say "Time Unavailable" and that would be duplicated within the form (form has eleven sheets).  It doesn't appear to be a problem as two of them have functioned appropriately for the first week (two times showing unavailable as shown above) but the third one didn't and now the form when you fill it out and press submit it won't even submit!!  I need real help with this, is there a bug we don't know about?  Is there an update that needs to happen?  I have looked in google play and it doesn't state an update is available.........

I had tried to contact the company that created Form Ranger a couple of weeks ago when I had a problem and this is the information I received:

"Please reference the Form Ranger Google Group. All of our Cloudlab add-ons have Google Group forums, which leverage a 'support model' in which community's members and volunteer moderators support one another and reference documentation for troubleshooting. Apart from monitoring for major bugs we unfortunately do not have the staffing capacity to interact in the Google Group forums or respond to individual support requests."

Since this is a FREE add-in for Google Forms, I wouldn't expect them to support it, so yeah, it's frustrating when it doesn't work. However Joe Schmidt (one of the members in this group) will tirelessly work with you to help get the problem solved. And yeah, NONE of your entries can be duplicated, so you'd need to find a way to display the entries uniquely. Instead of "Time Unavailable" have it say something along the lines of "9/14/22 10:00am Time Unavailable". By adding the date and the time to each entry, it will make that Time Unavailable unique so that it's not a duplicate of another.

That fixed the issue!  I even had to go so far as to delete the question about what week they wanted, as that created duplicates within the sheet.  I am sad it will not have the ease, convenience, nor professionalism that it did last year (last year this duplication thing had not been an issue within my forms/sheets).  Now they will have to scroll through numerous pages to get to the end to submit.

I'm happy that you have it working.  A while back, Google made a change that it would no longer update a question that had duplicates in the list.

This was not a NewVisions change.  It is something Google changed.  

I can see the logic in the change.  If there are duplicates in the list, how do you know which was selected?  Google just enforced the logic that it will not update a lists when it finds a duplicate.

I know this has been a pain for many.

Make sure there are no duplicates in the list of items.  A blank(space) is a value and two rows with a blank space creates a duplicate.

FormRanger will not update if the list contains duplicates

All of them have spaces in them. Do you mean spaces at the end? They are time slots so if I do 4:30 PM does the space between 4:30 and PM cause the problem?

a space in the text will not cause an error.  Two rows with a space will prevent formranger from working.

I know the information in the description of the group might be confusing but it should help.

I see the formula you've added, but it gives no information on where to put it or what to do with it. I checked out another thread, but "insert a column and insert the formula in row 2. place your title in row 1" is not terribly helpful. I tried inserting a column to the right of my current title and put the formula into row 2, but I got a ref error. Any chance you can just release the template with the corrected information? I've got a lot of knowledge in other areas, but this isn't my strong suit and I'm sure many who are trying to use this are in the same boat.
