Friday and again today, I can't get Formmule to open in one spreadsheet. (I checked others, and they are functioning fine.)

I did use the error-detection tool, and it found no header problems. I'm just getting the spinning circle.

The only other "clue" I see is that instead of opening, Formmule is creating an unnecessary sheet -- there's a template named "Student," and it's creating "Student Template Template."

I uninstalled and reinstalled the add-on without any change in the sheet's behavior.

Anyone have ideas I can try?

Thanks!

Aaron

Hmmm...

Perhaps make a copy of the sheet, which will also copy FormMule.

Then try deleting the template named "Student" from either the copy or the original spreadsheet.

Now see if you can get FormMule to open and try rebuilding a simple email template to test the sheet's functionality.

Then try recreating the email template from the other spreadsheet by copying and pasting the content of the email.

Hope that helps.
Regards.

Thank you! That got it opening -- still doing some strange things (losing the source sheet, generating phantom "Template" sheets) -- but workable now!

Hi Aaron,

I've never encountered this behaviour before. I've also never renamed my templates, just went with Template1, Template 2, etc.

You might experiment with NOT renaming the template(s) and see whether that eliminates the script from adding additional sheets.

I tried recreating the error by renaming one of my templates: I "renamed" Template 1 to Test1 which caused the script to create a new empty template called Test1. One thought that occurs is that if you were to accidentally manually rename the sheet name (on the sheet's tab) and get it slightly wrong, the script would be looking for a template with a particular name, and, not finding a sheet with that name, would generate a new Template sheet. In fact, I just tried this by manually renaming my Template 1 sheet to Template1 (no space before the 1) and the result was a new blank template sheet named Template 1.

Cheers!
Robin
