Hello,

We have a staff member who has been receiving the same email every two hours for days. The Send Status cell shows the original email being sent on 5/21/2026. Despite there being something in the cell, FM continues to send to this one recipient, based on the form trigger timer. This is only happening for one staff member as the rest of the rows are sending as expected.

The creator of the form and sheet did delete some rows before. How can she stop the duplicate messages from being sent?

Just to add a bit more detail. I removed the recipient's email address and the form trigger from their response row. This made no difference as they just received another repeat email. Thanks again for any guidance that you may be able to provide!

Another detail to add. Yesterday we removed the recipient's row completely from our sheet. His email address/form submission is no longer listed anywhere on the sheet or form yet he continues to received emails every two hours. The messages that he receives never show on the Preview and Send stage.  It also doesn't show on any hidden tabs.

Any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Ok. This is likely a dumb question, but is it possible you duplicated the spreadsheet, which would also duplicate the embedded script and might still be running?

Not a dumb question at all!  In fact, I just found out that they did in fact, have a duplicate form and sheet that was still sending messages. Along with this, there had been deletions on that sheet which led to the 50+ emails being sent to the same staff member.

Thank you!

Glad that solved it. Why was the data in the sent column of the other sheet being erased ?

Good Job Robin! I was sure it was something at the network level.

Thanks again Robin,
There had been some deletions on the duplicate sheet, and I think that may be why the sent indicator was populating in the row above the one generating the trigger. Looking at the revision history, it appears the sent indicator was updating every two hours based on the row below it that was prompting the trigger.

Hi Tracy,

That make sense.

I recently realized that when FormMule processes an empty data row, as expected it does not create an email, but when it is setting the status data for the next row after the blank row, it sets the status data in the status cell for the previous blank row rather than in the status cell for the row it just processed. This is odd, but it must be that the script does not determine the row number for each data row and then use that row number to determine the row in which to set the status data. Instead it seems to only get the row number of the previously set status data and then assumes that the next time it sets data it just has to increment the row number by one. But, that’s just a guess.

Happy computing!
