I have implemented the Form Mule Add-on, on behalf of building administrators in my school district. The form submission emails are now appearing to come from me. Is there a way to change this so the emails are coming from them? Or would I have to set these up as them?
Thank you in advance!
Donna

FormMule uses the email that performed the manual or set the triggers.

If there are multiple folks with different email addresses, you have a problem that might be messy,

Does the job run on a form or time trigger?

One of the easiest ways is to have a separate form and spreadsheet for each admin.

If you put "no-reply" in the "Reply-to:" box, it will say no reply instead of your email address.

We created an account to send Form Mule emails from and gave editing rights to all of the Sheets that needed anonymous sending. The account is just called NoReply, and I put in an automatic reply in case anyone tries to email that account (outside of Form Mule).

I also use the Reply-To box as kbru...@jeffcoschools.us says. This helps with people trying to reply to the email, but it does not solve the issue of where the email appears to come from.

My school district would not allow my department to make an email that was not attached to an employee. They did make us a shared department Google Drive account, but we cannot send email from that account. It is apparently a security risk.

Yeah, we typically do not allow generic accounts either for security reasons, but in this case an exception was made. Makes emails from Form Mules that should not be associated with an individual account easier to send. I am the only one that has access to that account and I only use it for Form Mule emails. For example, we had a Professional Development Day form that I helped set up that teachers used to select what sessions they would attend, and it made more sense to send from a NoReply email address rather than come from someone not running the PD Day.

Hi Steve,

Ask your administrator to reject external incoming mail for the noreply@.... the same way as non-existent accounts would be rejected. Keep in mind some procedures - like a password change - take other measures.
Once the noreply@... account is up, you should sign-in to it using a private browser session, make a copy of the Form(s) and Sheet(s) to be used with FormMule and set it up again.
This way you can handover the account when you retire to the one which will replace you or takes up this designated role.

Cheers, Bart
