I recorded an audio file for several students and uploaded each to Google drive by clicking the button in Goobric's assessment window. It provided a link on their document to the file in my drive folder titled "Google Audio files." However, they receive an error when trying to play it back; I get the same error when I open the file directly from my drive. It says "There was a problem playing this audio file." If I try to download it, it thinks it is a txt file. In the same folder, I have Goobric audio files from a year ago that play just fine. There is no difference in my process and no visible difference in the files. Yet, the old ones will play in Google Chrome, and new ones will not.

Hello,

That is peculiar. You can still play the recorded files from previous years? The Audio file should automatically play on your Drive (unless media settings have been changed on your Drive or within your Domain)
My Goobric files also give me the option to play with the  'Music Player for Google Drive' add-on, could that be an option ( meaning your students would need this as well if the application does infact play the audio)

I am trying to recreate this issue, I can't imagine how the files would be saving incorrectly but I will see what I can find. Thanks!

I have a similar issue in that I'm able to click record, and the recorder counts down the seconds, but when I stop it and/or when the time runs out, the playback notes :00/:00, suggesting that nothing recorded. Then, of course, if I still go along to submit it, I get an error like that one above.

I'm having the same problem, too. I was able to hear the audio when I played it back in the goobric editor, but once the audio files were "published" I couldn't play them back. My students and I got this message when we clicked on the links.

This is my first time using goobric, so I have nothing to compare it to.

Hello,

I am curious if this is an issue with Google Drive playing audio files. I have found others reporting this issue with Google Drive (not related to Goobric)

If the files are created and can be played in Goobric, then the issue might be with Google.

I will keep looking into this to see if I can gather more information.

Thank you all for the information and for flagging this issue.

I tested this out, and I can play audio files in drive, just not the ones created in goobric.
