Copy Down Not Working

I am using copy down with responses from a Google Form. I am getting random rows that are not copying down or even a group of 5 or 6 that are not copying down. It is still working but not consistently on every row. Any suggestions for a fix?

I'm having almost same problem... but i use the spidersheet addon in paralel. in this case, arrayformula isn't a solution because the rows without data are counted like data. spidersheet don't have means for differenciate between blank lines.

You can add an IF clause to the arrayformula so it only works on rows that have something.

There are times when CopyDown must be used. If you need the Copy and Paste values feature. If you want the format to be copied to new rows.

I'm also having the same problem.

Out of 223 submissions, 33 have failed. It doesn't seem to have any pattern and is very intermittant.

I have been using this on similar sheets for years and had the occasional failure but nothing on this scale. I can't use an arrayformula option as in conjunction with copydown I use FormMule and that useing the data created by CopyDown.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure I understand why you can't use an arrayformula.

If you need the Copy and Paste values feature of CopyDown, you need CopyDown.

There are times when you can't write an arrayformula because of the formula itself.

The new Lambda functions add some additional arrayformula type operations.

I would have to see the formula that is being copied.

I don't know how to fix the issue when CopyDown fails randomly. Do you have multiple form responses going to the same spreadsheet?

Hi Joe,

The way I understand it is

1. Someone completes a google form and this is sent to a google sheet

2. upon receipt copydown acts on this copies down the relevant formulas

3. at the same time, formmule sends an email containing the information in the fields created by copydown

Would the arrayformula sit on a separate sheet and formmule obtain the data from there?

Some of the values are copied and pasted and some of the formulas are copied and pasted so I think copydown is needed.

The google sheet only receives responses from one form.

I'm happy to share the sheet with you if you think it might help?

The arrayformula would be in the same sheet. It probably calculates faster than the copydown script.

If you need the copy and paste feature, you will have to stick with CopyDown.
